The Ron Hankins History Talks Lecture Series features a compilation of guest speakers discussing various events in our history. These lectures are both free and open to the public!
This month at the Charlotte Museum of History on May 18th Colonel Tom Vossler, US Army Ret. and preeminent military historian, will discuss the Battle of Antietam, the bloodiest single day of the Civil War, and the role North Carolina troops played in the struggle. Vossler will also sign copies of his book, A Field Guide to Antietam: Experiencing the Battlefield through Its History, Places, and People.
Vossler holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Pennsylvania Military College and a Master’s degree from Georgia State University. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the U.S. Army War College. If that isn’t impressive enough, he’s also a Gettysburg Licensed Battlefield Guide!
